CORBA Supports Paddlefest

CORBA has teamed up with River Works Discovery as a sponsor of the upcoming Paddlefest Kid’s Expo. Paddlefest is the largest event for River Works Discovery in the Cincinnati area. With over 6,000 children expected to participate in 2014, Kids Expo brings together area organizations for the largest outdoor youth environmental education program and the largest outdoor water safety and environmental education program for children in the Midwest.

The event, which takes place on June 20 at Coney Island from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm, is a chance for families from all over the area to see and interact in river related activities. There will be new exhibits this year with a new model barge displaying major commodities, a photo opportunity with RWD mascots Otter and Duck (this is a picture with head cutouts for each) and a line throwing station. The GCHMCC (Greater Cincinnati Hazardous materials co-op) will perform an actual boom deployment exercise.

This would be a great opportunity for the families of CORBA members to visualize the great work of River Works Discovery, CORBA and many of the CORBA charter members who are making a difference by enlightening the public as to the wonderful advantages of the River.
